SIPP Tax Relief

My wife opened and deposited a lump sum into a SIPP back in February.

The tax relief has now been added, but we're not sure if this counts towards the annual allowance within this tax year or last year (when it was triggered/requested).

Can someone please confirm which tax year the relief counts towards?

In last tax year. You should receive / can request a letter from your provider detailing the deposit so you can claim higher rate relief if applicable.
