I recently got a newer free view box, and can now enjoy the chav heaven of Men & Motors. last night I was half watching, when this demented twit appears with his hideous Cadillac Fleetwood covered in bent spoons. The car is grade A shite, he looks like he's ram raided a scout jumble sale. I love to hate the cretin, but deep down I admire the way he's made so much money and met so many people through his 'gift'. His gift, we all know is to bedazzle the more gulible of the planets populus with his unique brand of sorcery, mumbo jumbo, and the handy skill of bending spoons without having to go through the hassle bending them like the rest of us do when the need to arises.

The reason I'm writing this is because he really wound me up with a stupid throwaway comment. All the spoons on his mobile shower of sh1te are donated by well knowns. One well known spoon, was one he claimed was from James Deans porker, post crash. He said in a matter of fact tone it was found in the glove box, bent up, and covered in blood. Apart from this being practically impossible, I have concluded the man is a tit.

I once met Uri Geller, I had a spoon in my pocket and asked him to bend it.. He said yes.

Shame i left the spoon in my pocket really, because he missed, and it took 5 hours of surgery to get my Kb back into shape.

We have a crap science fiction type fair in Milton Keynes every few months, a while back he was there bending spoons, he asked me and a mate as we were watching if we'd like a spoon bent for a fiver, to which my mate replied "bugger off, i'll bend my own spoon and keep the fiver thanks"

Having your knob mistaken for a teaspoon is not something to confess on a public forum....

This guy has been chasing him for years

added (from Wikipedia):

Randi was a founding fellow and prominent member of CSICOP, the Committee for Scientific Investigation of Claims of the Paranormal. Randi later resigned from CSICOP during the period when Uri Geller was filing numerous civil suits against him. CSICOP's leadership, wanting to avoid becoming a target of Geller's lawsuits, had requested that Randi refrain from commenting on Geller. Randi refused and resigned. He still maintains a respectful relationship with the group and frequently writes articles for its magazine.

The most irritating thing about Uri is the crap crystals he peddles with the whole spirituality. He gets people to invest money in the belief that they will get benifits from a crstal and positive thinking.

He would be better of selling magic kits.

"Uri Geller may have psychic powers by means of which he can bend spoons; if so, he appears to be doing it the hard way."

Geller is almost certainly a sleight of hand merchant - however, I once saw him as the main speaker at a Mensa AGM conference, and I have to say he is very convincing.

He bent my spoon inches in front of my nose, and I could not see how he did it.

And I have quite a bit of knowledge about magic, illusions and sleight of hand, so I knew what to look for.

It's not that he can't do it - it's the claims he makes for what he does that cause the problems.

Twit ?, Yeah !

Also he was saying last night how he doesn't like to name drop, although his website lists the source of every spoon on his car, and later in the show he annonced how he once got John Lennon and Yoko back together after a tiff (like you'd own up to that).

And tonight, we have the dubious pleasure of Uri flying in a helicopter over Landsdown Road for our world cup crunch match! To give a spiritual lift to the crowd and team. Seriously, who does this guy think he is???

And, just for a change, let the rotors bend.

We haven't a hope then.

Who have the Swiss got helping them...Doris Stokes?

Edited to add - I've just found out that Ireland drew Nil:Nil - and have FAILED to qualify for the World Cup.

Thank's Uri - can we have the fee back?

True story :

Met him once at Donnington Park, he was in the same box at Redgate as were. Seemed a nice enough bloke to speak to.

However he made the mistake of asking my wife to make him a cup of coffee. She replied "Make it yourself, the kettle is over there, and the spoons are in the drawer ..."

She only realised what she'd said later
