My partners grandad used to love hiking, and due to the loss of his best mate a few years ago and his age he doesn't get out as much anymore.

It's a love shared by me and my partner so we try and get out for a good hike whenever we can, and her grandad is always interested in where we've been or where we're going, telling us stories about how he used to go for long walks with his best mate and how he wishes he could still get out there.

I'm wondering if there's a decent book I can get him with good pictures and write ups of fell walks in the Lake District or the Scottish Highlands, places he used to regularly hike years ago.

Cheers

Wainwright is the obvious choice . I'm no proper walker , but I've enjoyed his work , especially about the HIghlands.
