Round 4 and we re finally back in business in Miami for a Sprint weekend. Practice 1 is extended to 90 mins.

There will be serious upgrades on all cars, and tweaked technical regulations to improve recharging to allow cars to be driven harder, even if the lap times will be slower as a result. Hopefully it improves the show, because it needs to.

McLaren will be worth watching as it s promising a new car, but it s hard to see beyond another Mercedes win. I expect Kimi to beat George again. Red Bull will be hoping it's got on top of the new car's handling and downforce issues.

Here s to a great race.

Date(s): Friday 1 to Sunday 3 May 2026

Thanks PiaP.

Not a lover of Miami but I do love post-work track action on a Friday night, a great way to kick-off the weekend.

I've plumped for George for the win.

George for the win. He is faster and more consistent than Kimi. I suspect Kimi may become the better driver over time so this year may be the best opportunity for George to become WDC.

In keeping with the current rules, I will be getting ready early, overshooting and watching on replay - whilst wondering wtf just happened biggrin

Thanks PiaP as ever.

I notice I'm not so alone in my voting for Kimi anymore.

Indeed- Kimi is very bad news indeed for George Russell plc.

George wasn't expecting pressure from the teenager

Looking forward to F1's annual comedy farce special biggrin

Kimi for the win, unless anyone else's car has taken a big leap due to development/new rules.

It's been such a break and the rules have been tweaked, teams will have piled in development etc. so anything could happen at this point.

You'd probably have to back the Mercs but could the Mclarens be in with a shout here? Might go against the grain and give Piastri the nod for the win. Red Bull will be looking to have a much improved race too but I'd expect they're still too far behind to be at the front, even if the gaps been closed.

FP1 has been extended from sixty to ninety minutes.
To allow Teams & Drivers etc adapt to the new regulations.

That's weird, Domenicali said there was nothing wrong with the regs... That's why they had to change them!

I have just read that there won't be any FP2 & 3... due to it being a Sprint weekend. yikes

There never is when it's a sprint weekend.

A bit harsh with effectively new regs to have just a single practice session though. Even if it has been extended a little.

Maximum jeopardy for the upgrades and regulation changes!

It's seems like it will be 'a finger in the air' session.
Hope nobody hits major problems... Or else Saturday could become a bit chaotic.

Unpredictable. They'll start throwing banana peels at random places on the track next...

Thanks PiaP. Mind you, this is about time!

I don't know who'll win, but I don't doubt the biggest loser will be F1. Rushed rule changes have been been disappointments at best.
