Hi all,

Just musing at present before I push the button on a mac 570 but what are the 2010 to 2012 gallardos like to own, drive, live with etc? Especially the e-gear.
I like the look of this one, what are they like in terms of reliability, annual costs aside from routine servicing? Do they have electrical gremlins? Essentially what do I need to know should I go down that route and does anyone know this car?

Firstly, just to admit that my response does not answer the question you are about running a Gallardo.
No doubt you have had a quick read of the Gallardo buying guide: https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...
Generally speaking there's no mention of the equivalent of Ferraris sticky switches to have to factor in.

I have seen your "F430 spider queries" post. The only Gallardo mentioned very briefly is the LP 560-4, a spyder example of which you have provided a link for and are asking for any information about. From your other post you are considering this against an F430 spider and a McLaren.

As this is the only Gallardo spyder you have mentioned it's not clear why you've particularly focused on that model. Perhaps it's a case of looking at the spyders currently advertised. If it was my money I would be looking at the best and the last of the spyders, so an LP570-4 spyder Performante, or an ever rarer Performante Edizione Tecnica. Both of these are the spyder equivalent of the Superleggera, so loads of carbon fibre, alcantara for the interior with different bucket seats. These were produced towards or at the end of the Gallardo production run so most of any of the earlier Gallardo issues should have been sorted or improved upon. Whilst it won't match much of what the modern day McLaren offers (apart from the sound), in my opinion it's above and beyond the F430. Depreciation should be zero.

The only problem will be finding one.

So that you can make a comparison against the LP560 you have linked, here are some previously sold cars:
A sold 2012 Performante: https://www.top555.co.uk/stock/details/lamborghini...
A sold 2014 Performante Edizione Tecnica: https://www.vvsuk.co.uk/vehicle-details/used-lambo... This one has carbon ceramic brakes.

Food for thought.
