Following my previous post and having done a lot of home work I've narrowed down to 3 cars I like the look of and would appreciate thoughts or even if you know the cars. It's a shed load of money for me and I want to ensure I can get the best possible to start any ownership as worry free as possible

1 is at Thorney - https://www.thorneymotorsport.co.uk/car/mclaren-57...
Interior carbon, sports exhaust, B&W stereo, lift, soft close, low mileage and owners etc. Benefits from their full inspection

2nd is one I'm viewing Saturday - https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202604081...
Main issue is it's nearly 10k more than the above, has double the miles BUT is very well specced, nicer interior and has just had a full overhaul by Thorney at a cost of 19k - I've seen the invoice covering paint, PPF, corrosion, wishbones, door switches, track rods, full service, shock etc. Being sold by Ventura and it is they who commissioned Thorney to do the work. I love the interior colour as well. Stunnning car but right up at the top end budget wise.

3rd - Mac dealer (Ascot) - https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202604021...
Year newer, middle mileage, nice interior thoguh missing B&W stereo and some carbon, sports exhaust and security pack. Would also come with 1 year Mac warranty which is a huge bonus. However, how well prepped are dealer cars compared to the 2 above?

4th = Favourite colour, but expensive again - https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202603311...
No Thorney prep or warranty. Great spec though

Final - private seller, highest miles and I think a little overpriced but will allow me a saving for inspection and warranty - https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202603230...

I can say the last one in Sicilian yellow doesn't look like that in real life, that looks more like VY to my eyes..

I bought my first car from Ascot. Was well prepared except for the diamond cut wheels - noticed white traces under the laquer when I got home. They sorted it.

But, personally I wouldn't buy a car with that colour interior. I had a Ferrari with cream leather - utter pain to keep clean

Thought had crossed my mind. I was going to ask if the dealers and also Thorney are usually willing to negotiate

The first one at ventura has had the JT seal of approval given the works, it's just a lot more money for similar. 1st world decisions I know...

I negotiated a 2yr warranty when I purchased my car from a main dealer. The cost of buying a second year warranty costs more as an individual than it does for the dealership so maximises value for both parties.

Thorney are SOR and the seller sets the price, not Thorney. I think their website said "If your car doesn't sell in 3 months, it's priced wrong".

You are however pretty much guaranteed a perfect car, but you pay for it.

I spoke to the seller on that - and now own a SY car, and I can confirm that is an SY car.

The price seems a little optimistic to my eyes, but not wildly. I seem to recall one or two options were missing that I wanted which ruled me out.

Thanks, can you remember what options they were? I agree on being a little optimistic price wise for private

Quite a rare colour, I know of only 6.

Off the top of my head definitey the interior carbon is missing, and I seem to recall it might not have the reverse camera (part of the security pack?) and I prefer the wheels on my car.

Small differences, but they were near as damnit the same money, but mine slightly lower miles and from a dealer so it won the day.

OP - At that money can I ask why you don't just go for a 650 or 12c ?

I like the 12c but they are getting on a bit now and I feel the 570 is a big improvement over it.
650S is, a far as I understand, a lot more costly to run plus I prefer the looks of the 570 smile

I'm hoping the 570 spider has now largely hit a depreciation wall. I'm not looking to make money from it but don't want one to drop 30% overnight.

Im a little biased but there is a reason the 540/570 started at £124/140, mainly lack of active suspension and aero.

"most" of the parts are however very similar, so servicing is the about the same, suspension actuators can now be fixed.

again biased but 570 from what I can see / read is a bit of a rot box, 12c corrosion was mainly along the underside leading edge of the bonnet.

12c and 650 prices are holding up well and 650 prices are on the increase if you can find one, I don't look at 570 so can't comment.

I don't follow the 570 market regards value but the amount for sale v 12c/650 should have a bit of an impact.

If you prefer the 570, no issue - but running costs are not really any different.

It is each to their own; I find the rear 3/4 view of the 650 to be a bit chunky; I like the front view of the 570, it has the looks of contentedness.
For me and many others, preference of the as mentioned on PH before of the more direct dart like nature of the P13 models, I don't like the remoteness of the feeling that can be felt on the active suspension models.

We are all different; that should be a positive surely.
