Reliable Automatic Compact Hatch/SUV Under 18k?

Hello,

I’ve recently sold my car and need to replace it as soon as possible.

Ideally, I’m looking for a Hyundai i30 or Kia Ceed, but automatic versions seem quite hard to find.

Could you recommend a reliable petrol automatic for under £18,000? I’ll be driving around 12,000 miles a year, with a mix of motorway and local journeys.

Have you considered an EV? Kia Niro and Hyundai Kona are very good in that price range, and will do 300 miles for £5.. Probably need your own driveway or work charging to make it workable.

I would second the above suggestion: Toyota Corolla. Comes well equipped (if you go for the Excel or GR sport trims) and benefit from Toyota Relax Warranty for up to car’s 10th anniversary or 100k miles as long as serviced within Toyota dealer network l.

If you'd rather go SUV then the RAV4 is in budge but would be a bit older and higher mileage than the corolla, they do however have a good reputation fore reliability.

I'd be considering the electric Nero or Kona if you can charge at home, but I believe both are available as petrol/hybrid too.
