Another "is this a fair fine?" post

I'd appeal that one on the basis that the signage is unclear and as the yellow markings have worn away you could assume that the parking bay markings had too.
Unfortunately the slam dunk that land on which railway byelaws are in force is not "relevant land" in the application of the Protection of Freedoms Act was taken away a couple of months ago, so you can't use that defence.
Before I appealed a few of these and gained some knowledge, Mrs W paid up for "failing to park in a marked bay" although the marked bays were covered in snow at the time she parked.

I hadn't noticed the pofa 2012 was recently changed to bring railway land in scope (Jan 2026)Unfortunately the slam dunk that land on which railway byelaws are in force is not "relevant land" in the application of the Protection of Freedoms Act was taken away a couple of months ago, so you can't use that defence.

Someone must have lobbied hard for that to happen...I wonder what the government got from the parking industry in return?
I assume it still leaves airports out of scope of relevant land, although I saw something online that airports could choose themselves whether to apply pofa 2012 or not (?)
Anyway this is off topic: I think that parking is reasonable, but ultimately it will be a magistrate deciding so it depends on signage, context with the rest of the car part etc.

Like I said on day 1, Ts & Cs are the place to go.

Not an unreasonable place to park IMO, they're trying it on.
