L405 paranoid parking sensors
Discussion
I have a late 2017 build L405 4.4 SD V8 Autobiography. Great car but the parking sensors are becoming increasingly paranoid.
I asked a garage to look at it and they came back and said that my two front-side sensors are missing!
The previous owner had fitted an SVA type front and rear body kit and that has six sensors on the rear bumper but it only has 4, forward facing sensors on the front bumper. The garage (not LR main dealer) is saying he thinks it should have two more sensors on the front wheel arches. When I first got the car everything worked reasonably well but now, whenever I put it in reverse it's silent until I turn the steering wheel and then the graphic implies that something is too close on the side of the car.. I checked behind the wheel arch cover and I can't see any sensors dangling or anything like that, nor any empty plugs. So, should I have 6 or 4 sensors? (Car does NOT have auto parking assist) If I should just have 4, is it likely that a sensor is playing up?
