I recently asked my postman if the rumours were true that letter delivery was no longer a priority.
He confirmed that anything with a 24hrs or 48hrs delivery or signed for delivery is given priority, the rest is delivered if someone is available and within normal working hours, no overtime is available. If the regular rounds person is not available that mail stays in the depot .
I often go up to a week without seeing a walking delivery, just vans driving past with parcels of picking up from post boxes .
Still seem to get loads of junk mail though .
I'm in a seaside town in SE Kent, how is it in your area ?

A genius move to destroy demand by doing a st job, then use the drop in demand to justify service reductions and price rises, which further destroys demand, until the bit you didn't want but got lumbered with is gone.

Then you're just left with a parcel delivery service built on top of a lot of legacy resources.

It's a weirdly shaped business if it dumps all its last drop work, most of it isn't people sending letters, it's commercial.
