Hi all, I am putting a 205 pinto in my mk1 cortina. I’ve installed the retro ford World Cup crossmember and steering rack conversion and I’m now looking at sorting my exhaust. Does anyone have any experience of what exhaust manifold would work for this?

It’s got to move backwards fairly quickly to avoid the crossmember but then needs to avoid the steering column as it heads down and under the car. I had a standard cast manifold running into two pipes, then into one. This sits quite tight to the engine being a cast manifold but it still hits the steering column as it goes down. My guessing is that I probably need a headder compatible with a mk1 /2 rs2000 escort as that has the same crossmember and same rack but obviously the steering column might be travelling at a slightly different angle.

Burton power do an Ashley manifold, various piper options including ones stating servo tower removed and I guess not, and a Simpson option.

Burton say I can buy try and send back but there are so many options that I’ve no idea where to start.

Any help would be great, thank you
