Pakistan strikes the Afghan capital of Kabul as part of a wave of attacks across the country, according to a government official.

I didn't expect to see this one, thinking they were generally "on the same team".

Were the Taliban looking to take over Pakistan?

Huge internal power struggles in both countries, but, essentially, Pakistan is punishing the Afghan Taliban for not reining in the Pakistani Taliban.

They're a bit busy, yesterday they made a law that if you broke your wife's arm you will get two weeks in prison, if you abuse a camel you get five months.

Tongue in cheek.... What if either of them took a tumble on the staircase?

Priorities, eh? When politicians like Nicola Sturgeon struggle to explain why rapists are allowed in women's prisons, it does rather undermine the UK's efforts to preach women's rights to other countries. And the British government facilitated the evacuation of a load of stray dogs from Afghanistan while civilians were being blown up at Kabul airport - that would have sent a message.

Supporting the Taliban all those years might not seem such a great idea now

I'm an atheist however I find it interesting you say that, what is your take on Russia/Ukraine war, or even better, WW1/WW2

You could write books on them, and most wars but in brief:

WW1 seems to be a series of power struggles as the older order changed and new powers rose. WW2 was largely ideology. Russia/Ukraine territory and lots of historical baggage.
