BBC classed this as a business topic, so that'll do!

Expect more of this, when people feel they are getting robbed at the tills by high prices and poor value then this will be a growing trend.

Easily sellable, easy to conceal, can be worth a bit and complete lack of repercussion.

Not exactly surprising I guess.

Not surprised really. Easy to steal and easy to sell on. Only issue in our local shop would be finding someone to unlock the box for you.

Not sure why anyone would steal Cadburys - sadly, palm oil filled garbage these days. Guess the Council estate scumbags don't care.

Well quite. If it’s not minimum 70% high-quality cocoa then it’s really not worth the bother.

Stick to Criollo and Trinitario beans from the Solomon Islands and you will be fine (F&M).

I know they changed the recipe when Kraft took over, but that seems a tad extreme!

Worth a deeper read that article.

The guy who macheted the glass door to the shop to get a tray of dairy milk got a five stretch.

Tedious to fact check the BBC but Cadburys isn't chocolate. I won't be writing in.

Just put the chocolate display behind glass in a small corner shop, it's not rocket science. Shops don't help themselves.

Chocolate is a hotbed of crime. I've just bought some Penguins and there's little chocolate on them, but the price hasn't gone down. I'm been mugged.

Don't get me started on the current size of Wagon Wheels, when they were made by Westons in the 60's, they were huge!

Who buys knock off chocolate? I can't believe there is sufficient profit in this to fund a decent standard of living

Agreed, it tastes disgusting these days, I refuse to buy it anymore. A shame as a Cadburys Button Easter egg out of the fridge used to be my favourite chocolate ever.

I visited friends over the weekend for a coffee, and they gave me a Mint Club biscuit to go with it. If you like a lot of chocolate on your biscuit - you won't find it on a Club....!

Definitely need a barrier betwixt the choccies and the shop exit else some smartie will revel in the fact they can get it for free. Hopefully there are still some heroes around that would stop them though it’s no picnic and indeed a rocky road these days enforcing the law.
