Best DIY OBD scanner for 2016 DB9GT?

Hi all, advice please...
I'm looking for a suitable ODB scanner for my 2016 DB9GT, just for DIY - so fault deletes for tyre pressures etc. I read that Foxwell scanners are popular, but when I sent the VIN of my car to Foxwell, they replied "We have checked with our tech support team, we don't have a device to do this function for your vehicle, sorry to tell you that we cannot make a recommendation."
What do you recommend?

I just use a run of the mill one from Amazon that connects via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi to an iPhone app, CarScanner.

With this you will be able to do the basic stuff. To access more in-depth engine modules you will need the Foxwell.

Strange, I have a Foxwell NT530 with Aston Martin software on it and it works great, although I do not think it will program new TPMS sensors (if thats what you need)

I use it on all my cars as for £80 you can add SW update to suit, so my scanner has Jag and Land Rover SW installed too.

My local tyre garage have supplied and installed new TPMS sensors on my previous VH era Vantages, didnt charge much a new sensor was £75 when I had some new tyres fitted.

Foxwell is officially not supported if you have a Bosch ECU.

Bosch engine management systems (ECU) were introduced for the V12 engines from 2012 - 2018.

I didnt realise that, I have had my Foxwell quite a few years and used it on my previous Vantage V8s and now have a V12VS. I have plugged it in once to do a general scan but nothing specific. I guess it will continue to function as a "regular" OBD II reader but no specific AM module functions.

Thank you, that’s very helpful. Maybe that’s why Foxwell couldn’t recommend one of their products. So, which OBD reader is compatible with a Bosch ECU?

All DB9 engines had Visteon EEC-VI engine management till the end of production. That includes the MY13 onwards AM11 engine for DB9 and DB9 GT.

I have a 2016 DB9. A Foxwell 510 Elite with AM software seems to work okay for me.

I’m not expert and so far used it once to clear an emissions warning light and to confirm that it was the O2 sensors playing up.

Apologies re my earlier post as it appears that the DB9 did not have the Bosch ECU (DB9 GT did), taken from Neal, Grants book. The Definitive Guide to Gaydon era Aston Martin:

DB9 engine management system (two in the V12 cars), which utilses a powerful Freescale MPC565 processor and is know internally as “Spanish Oak”. Aston Martin’s engineers worked with Pi Innovo to develop the software/hardware set-up for each model. A new Bosch engine management system was introduced in May 2013 (on the V12 Vantage S first). Development is ongoing, see the engine and DBS/Vanquish/DB11 sections for further details.

Thanks for the replies, very informative! Don’t seems my DB9GT does have the Bosch ECU system, a “standard” DB9 of the same are does not.

Anyone on here with a Bosch system (especially a DB9GT) who uses a OBD scanner?
