I'm buying various things from various outlets and paying for all of today's transactions via paypal. During an ebay purchase, at the point where I'd just received a text from paypal confirming a security check, I realised I hadn't changed the delivery address from my home to the property I'm working in. I went back into the ebay site and did so. Immediately afterwards, the ebay site thanked me for my purchase, and showed me the last 4 numbers on the card from which they had taken payment. It's taken the payment from my business card, and not the one I had registered through paypal.

I'm at a loss to know how that's managed to happen. I hadn't got to the point where I had authorised payment by any method, so how it's been able to get to that stage is beyond me. I'm still not sure where I'm at with it exactly, as my business account has the transaction down as payment pending.

So Paypal used a card that you had not provided it?

No, it appears paypal aren't involved at all, even though that's the method I'd set out to use. Ebay appears to have confirmed payment on a card I haven't submitted for such purposes, despite the fact that I hadn't authorised it by any means.
