I bought a Volvo EX 30 last Thursday which came with a free 7 day ins
I have taken off my private plate LH and have it on retention. The number on the Volvo is OV. On going forward is it better, and quicker, to
tell the insurance to insure the car under the OV plate and then change the reg to LH or change the reg LH first. The car insurance is by Aviva.

Insure it with the plate it has on it, if you change it change your insurance simple. Try explaining to plod that its insured with a plate you are putting on next week.

Check your policy online through My Aviva which will tell you if changing your plate is free or not.

The thing they will tell you is that the cost of your plate is not insured if it gets written off.
