Has anyone 'glamped' for the F1 weekend?

I'm in charge of organising the 2026 weekend for me, my brother and my best mate. So, we're three middle-aged blokes. None of us does hardship very well.

Ideally, we'd like to rent rooms or a house in Silverstone, Whittlebury or Dadford, because from there we'd be able to walk in. I think I have ruled this out, however, purely due to cost. So far, people are asking about £5-7k to rent out their houses for three nights.

So, this leaves:

1. Renting a house or rooms close by, somewhere like Brackley or Towcester, and driving in each day, probably parking at the Silverstone School. We'd have an accommodation budget of about £2k, and I think we're in the ballpark there.

2. Glamping...As a spoilt snowflake, I was dead set against any kind of tent for a weekend. This would involve all of us in one 'room', too cold, too hot, and all of the other negatives with sleeping outside. But, we could walk to the track and back, a massive plus point, and this kind of setup, a 'Luxury Moroccan Bedouin' looks better than I was fearing:

Any thoughts, anyone?

Gonna probably need to decide on this fairly soon, would be great to get some input if anyone has any advice.

never glamped myself, as we always take the van with us. given it's the F1 and a bunch of mates, it could be a laugh, so go for it smile

The latest on this is that we are waiting to see how the new rules pan out. If it turns out, as it looks like is the case at the moment, that drivers will be coasting through corners to generate battery power for the following straight, then we'll be selling our tickets at Becketts and cancelling the trip.
