Hi, I notice the door has been replaced, does this show as a Categories claim on the cars history?
Replacing a door would not be sufficient for the car to be classified as Category S (structural write off). In a similar manner, the cost of replacing a door would not be high enough, on a vehicle of that value, to be categorised as Caregory N (economic write off). The exception to the latter would be unavailability of parts resulting in excessive hire car costs. dfh250 said:
I ve run a car check online and I see nothing. It s my understanding that minor damage that isn't structural isn't recorded centrally other than by the insurer.
Just an update, I've been told that a Cervertical report will show more information than a standard car check (like a Carfax) and it does indeed show damage reported as I described : November 2025 to the exterior body panels only with a damage estimate of £1500-3000.Not for me but looks a tidy little car.
Just for note, many years ago my neighbour reversed into my Evo 6. Similar damage to a rear door. Also Admiral insurance. Lets just say I was delighted with the results. Neighbour remained very sheepish for years till we moved house. No hard feelings.
Good luck with the sale.
