East Riding Stages Rally - Beverley East Yorkshire
Discussion
Enjoyed the Saturday night Westwood stage.
I was intrigued to see which way they ran on the Sunday and the state of the grass(!) in the daylight where lot of car cut the hairpin S, so a little disappointed that the live youtube/facebook coverage didn't show it. Seen some fan videos but are there any photos?
Hope they do the night stage again, but have more marshals down there next to the comms booth. When the Escort got stuck in the wet mud/grass and fans eventually crossed the tape to push it was a little sketchy - unsighted and pitch black.
A great event, well done to everyone who made it happen.

If only we could magic more marshals out of thin air.I was intrigued to see which way they ran on the Sunday and the state of the grass(!) in the daylight where lot of car cut the hairpin S, so a little disappointed that the live youtube/facebook coverage didn't show it. Enjoyed our run at it even if it came to a premature end before SS8 with a differential problem. Great Wold was so so fast - first time I've felt squeamish in a rally car on stage which is a bit concerning, suspect it's the long long straights meaning I'd less time to be looking at the notes and a bit more time looking out of the front.
The exit of the acute hairpin at the start of Westwood was very confusing for seeing where to actually go - like many we cut the grass as couldn't see a way through to go round the bale!

They did modify it slightly for the Sunday runs. The exit of the acute hairpin at the start of Westwood was very confusing for seeing where to actually go - like many we cut the grass as couldn't see a way through to go round the bale!
We had to retire just before the Swine stage on Sunday morning.
It's a fault that has occurred before unfortunately. It slowly loses power, misfires and does not respond to throttle inputs, idles roughly then cuts out. It then won t start or if it does it won t run for long.
After waiting 15 minutes, it then starts and runs perfectly well. If driven hard, the fault will return at some random time later and again, when left for 15 mins, it will start again.
I have changed the cam sensor, crank sensor, and (my thought that this would be the culprit) the throttle position sensor as well. No improvement.
Frustrating and I need to get it reliable. I also messed up at the Westwood night stage (not alone!) but my second run was a bit better.
Great Wold - Christ that was an experience. I had to let two faster cars pass, and I wasn't hanging about!
