Hi all

Quick question for anyone in the medical field- is there any truth in live blood analysis or is it complete nonsense in your opinion?

A friend who is very highly qualified in children’s development and medicine is a firm believer in it, and has suggested it for our daughter (for various minor rashes/reactions, nothing serious). Google results on the other hand suggest it’s complete rubbish.

It’s cheap enough, so not bothered about that, just wondering if there is any benefit whatsoever in the opinion of people with more knowledge than me!

Thanks all

Hospital consultant
Never heard of live blood analysis
Closest thing i can think of are arterial blood gases and blood ammonia levels (the latter needing to be spun immediately iirc)
I suppose a large number of diabetics now have constant blod glucose analysis with their monitors on arms and an app but I've not heard of it being repurposed for anything else.

If I understand it correctly, continuous glucose monitoring using a sensor worn on the arm take readings from interstitial fluid rather than from blood. I should add I have no medical knowledge but my O/H uses the Libre 2 CGM system.

True, but given the vague nature of the opening query and the fact that LIbre relies on interstitial fluid and blood plasma equilibrating rapidly, I wasnt being pedantic about it

I'd be more inclined to listen to a genuine expert, up to date and working in the field.
