I’m generally a supporter of trying to buy locally sourced food & buying meat I do look at country of origin in shops

Interesting reading
Original recipe bone in = U.K. chicken
Boneless = elsewhere
Wings - going to start U.K. chicken

Good news but I think where they source their chicken from is nowhere near their biggest problem. With the likes of Popeyes, Wingstop and others taking market share these days too quality, consistency etc are more important by far. Sure source of the meat helps with that but cold limp fries, small portions, inconsistent gravy, chewy weird burger buns and all those kind of things need sorting.

Non U.K. chicken does put me off, that pretty much makes me switch to eating original recipe.

I see there s a popeyes opening in Dundee on former Pizza Hut site - was going to give it a try but now interested to figure out where their chicken comes from.

According to Popeyes, their meat is British and fresh.

Disgustingly evil, but also true.

Not if you say the correct prayer first, apparently.

What worries me with KFC (I probably eat it once every 2 years) is the amount of
broken bones you get in drumsticks or wings. I do wonder when this happens.
Before or after death. Neither are a good look.

Agreed, I'd much rather the chicken had a happy life before it's killed and boiled in pressurised oil.

I stand by being corrected but my understanding is in uk the stunning & slaughter method in poultry is the same except for the prayer & Muslim staff cutting preparing making it pretty easy to certify and a shrewd move indeed

Birds hung upside down - stunned in a water bath
(Stunning being permitted by some halal ) before the actual throat cut.
