Hello from a new owner and a question
Discussion
After years of debating ... I felt that at the end of last year it was now or never to get a new one.
So here is my lovely A110

Something that struck me almost immediately was that it was slightly firmer than I remember. My previous proper test drives were a few years back with the Pure, Legende and the S. After going from one to the other I had decided that I wanted the standard chassis and not the Sport chassis.
I had cause to have an older A110S for a day a few weeks back and it struck me that the ride in that car was the same as my new standard one. Looking at the specs it would seem that these run out base A110 have the "Sport" chassis which I am guessing is the same as the older S model. If that's the case, what is the best way to get the earlier car's standard chassis? Is it just springs or are the dampers different? If I want to soften it off a little then are the Life110 springs the way to go?
So here is my lovely A110

Not sure on your question, but do check the tyre pressures. Mine came at delivery pressure and the ride was awful.
Thanks good idea, just looked in the app and they are 37 Front and 40 Rear which is pretty high. I'll search and see what people are running and lower them down which should take the edge off a little.Congratulation, very rare and nice color!
I cannot immagine, that Alpine puts another suspension in the Pure without comment.
But I guess if so, it should be visible in the spec codes of your car, which your dealer should know or at least in the parts catalogue.
I would simply contact the dealer and ask him.

That's really high, fairly sure it is 2.0 bar / 30psi F&R stickers in the door jam. After my last tyre change they over inflated, difference was stark, its very sensitive to pressures.

I’m pleased you’ve posted this as mines on 270 miles , I didn’t have the “privilege “ as someone old me it was , of a test drive of anything due to the poor excuse of a salesman but I ordered one anyway on the back of a couple of recommendations by pm on here and watching and reading every review I could find .So here is my lovely A110

I too was a bit disappointed with the ride of the standard car , also the quality if I’m being honest , drivers side wiper not clearing the screen and an annoying rattle behind te drivers seat , both of which I’ve sorted myself .
I’ll try checking the tyre pressures tomorrow , I’ve read of this “ magic carpet “ ride but just assumed mine was suffering because of turbulence!
I’ll update when I know more .
I'm sure I've seen comment from some of the journos that the 'stock' suspension seems to have been tweaked slightly since the early cars. Without Alpine acknowledging it.
Can't remember who exactly, but probably someone from EVO or that Intercooler bloke. I've read or watched pretty much everything online/ in print on these cars now.

Good luck, I hope you don't regret your decision. Mine will go in for the Life110 alignment, you can tell it is a bit off from factory but I want to know whether I'll go for the Life110 springs at the same time .. if I have the Sport set-up then I probably will.I too was a bit disappointed with the ride of the standard car , also the quality if I m being honest , drivers side wiper not clearing the screen and an annoying rattle behind te drivers seat , both of which I ve sorted myself .

Yes I remember that now, I think it was Dan Prosser on the Intercooler. Can't remember who exactly, but probably someone from EVO or that Intercooler bloke. I've read or watched pretty much everything online/ in print on these cars now.
It may be that they have just quietly ditched the standard suspension completely. I mailed the Dealer who gave a rather too quick response stating that there is no difference he latest cars are the same as the earlier Pure models. Yet if you check the current configurator it says the A110 has Sport chassis. Even the app says my car specification has the Sport suspension as standard.

My car was built in early 2025 and it definitely has softer suspension than the S.
It wouldn t be a surprise if they decided to cut cost by only manufacturing the same S suspension for the last of the line cars.

I was thinking the same ... or maybe they didn't have any of the standard suspension left but plenty of S Going to take a wheel off and see if I can work it out by part number, spring markings and ARB thickness
Checked mine this morning , slightly under recommended as to be expected stood in a cold garage all night .
Good point about manufacturing date , I bought mine new but out of stock with 20 miles on it late last year so I’m guessing a mid to later manufacture?
I’ll persevere with it as I like the car and have wanted one since they were first released , I first read of them in “ car “ magazine when they teased the promotional pics and instantly thought it would be a good car .
I must like it , I’m actually running it in carefully !

Mine's a 21 plate Pure but if you look at the app it says 'sports chassis' under the technical spec. I don't think that means anything in particular. Maybe the 'S' model says something different?

My 2025 S model states 'Cup chassis' under technical spec
Thanks. It's interesting to see that internally they called the standard suspension Sport and the sport suspension Cup. I found parts diagrams online which also reference only Sport and Cup. I just had the front drivers wheel off to check against part numbers - for reference in case of future interest to anyone:
- Shock absorber, 6020018451 which equates to Sport chassis
- Spring, 6020015033 which equates to Sport chassis
- ARB, 6010015171 which equates to Sport chassis
So it would seem that it is a standard chassis car. Strange how the S I drove felt pretty much the same on exactly the same road and that I remember the earlier cars as being much more compliant with more pronounced roll in the corners.
Tyre pressures reduced now
