ANC Headphones for extended use
Discussion
Currently working in an open plan environment and my AirPods Pro 2 aren't cutting it for calls as there's too much bleed around the earpiece picking up people sitting next to me who are often in the same call
Looking for recommendations for noise cancelling headphones, in ear or over head, for extended wear (ie don't get you too hot an sweaty), sound quality not primary concern as will mainly be using them for calls, though nothing that sounds like a tin can as will use for audio via Bluetooth occasionally. Have heard the AirPods 3 are better, but no reason to stick with Apple if something better out there....

Always thought orgs should invest in ways of delivering soundproof cubicles on a larger scale rather than just a few dotted around office environments. Especially since covid, the increase in virtual meetings and reduction in office space demand.
Way back in the early '00s I had an American style desk cubicle, they were 8ft high which helped to some degree but limited social interaction... There's some really weird stuff out such as Tomoko, Helmfon, but I would be throwing it back at the employer/client to provide a more suitable workplace for the current operating model, not forking out for my own tech. If you are self-employed then I would pick better contracts if you can.

I've been using Sony WF-1000XM earbuds for a few years now.
Have previously had some no name ANC wired earbuds and also over ear Bose QC 25.
The Sony earbuds are by far the best headphones I've had. The Sony app allows you to tune the sound to taste via an equaliser, the noise cancelling is superb.
The noise cancelling is really reliant on you having got the correct sized foam tips installed and inserted into the ear canal so that it is sealed entirely. Any slight leakage will ruin the experience, but once it's right you'll know it, it's just a bit of trial and error when you first get them.
Should have said, used them in an office environment on Teams calls a number of times, and they seemed fine from what I remember, however it's been over eighteen months since I used them that way...

I never find in ear that comfortable for long use. I have a pair of Bose QC35 and like them so much I bought a pair of QC25 for the office. they work really well at muting people talking and with some music on quietly I hardly hear a thing.
However I find the microphones on any of that kind of headphone picks up way too much background noise. If you want something with a decent mic either look at ones with a boom mic, either business type ones or a gaming headset.
We have Plantronics Blackwires at work, the microphones are so good on them I got a couple of pairs for home as well. Some people at work have the noise cancelling version but I've not tried those.
