Yeah I know.....boring right?

Our Cordless hoover has just died...a Shark one that's no longer made otherwise I'd have bought it again.

Do you guys have any recommendations for a cordless hoover? Mix of hard wooden floors and wool carpets in our place - no pets so doesn't have to include this.

Haven't had to buy one in many years...
Budget - £400..surely that will get something right?

Cheers
Baz

Having done that (wood and carpets with cordless), I now have robots, one for upstairs one down - will never go back, as they are SO much better (and cheaper than £400). And I don't have to do it. smile

Go to bed, set them off, floors clean in the morning.

Hoover's range of cordless vacuum cleaners seems a bit limited & uninspiring.

https://www.hoover-home.com/en_GB/collections/cord...

Other manufacturers & brands offer a wide range to choose from, but I don't have a cordless, so can't make a recommendation.

^^ In this context 'hoover' is generic, like 'biro'.

I've recommended these before.

What I've got.
GTech AirRam for the floors - https://www.gtech.co.uk/cordless-vacuum-cleaners/u...
GTech Multi K9 for the sofas, stairs etc. - https://www.gtech.co.uk/cordless-vacuum-cleaners/h...
But then I have a dog.

They do others and you can often find deals.

Also as someone who has Ryobi tools I would have got this which is a recent deal if I didn't have the above.
TV advert from Ryobi for a cordless vacuum + battery + charger and get a free handheld vacuum for £199
https://uk.ryobitools.eu/cleaning-tools/cordless-v...

I do have a handheld Ryobi vacuum (with a 5A battery on it it lasts ages) and I like it but I have never used a Ryobi stick vac so can't review it.

Never thought of the robots before....will look into them...

Although i do like to moan about having to "hoover" then find it slightly satisfying...

I like to moan about things...is that a man thing?

Thanks for responses so far !

We have 2 Dyson and 2 Shark to cover upstairs, downstairs, kitchen and the garage

The Dyson has a rapid carpet brush and better suction power but the battery doesn't last.

The Shark has better battery life and and even has 2 batteries which can be changed but the carpet brush is slow and the suction power is not as good as the Dyson.

We always use the full high power mode.

I prefer the Dyson because it feels more powerful and best for small jobs but for doing the whole house I use the Shark.

Believe me: Nothing more satisfying than watching robots doing your dirty work.. and watching them do it on the map on your phone whilst they do it, whilst you lie in your bed watching TV!

That's proper fine. smile

I bought a Shark 2 years ago, this one..

https://sharkclean.co.uk/product/shark-anti-hair-w...

£169.99 and way better that the Dysons that it replaced. Really impressed. I'd stick with Shark.

We have a Vax one and a Shark. Vax is much better of the two - suction seems a lot more powerful. Maybe not an obvious brand as most people associate them with wet-vacs, but their normal vacuums are also very good.

Any how do they get into corners? - That's surely where a vacuum is needed more than anywhere else. We've seen the robot vacuums moving around in Travelodge, and they don't look very effective.

Your reply suggested you took the title literally.
