On Doofus's advice...

Mark's channel seems to be maturing into quite interesting viewing...particularly with the Veyron purchase.

I like the full disclosure approach and I'm looking forward to watching that evolve and to see what he comes up with next.

Doofus made a good suggestion in the MA thread that perhaps the reason the previous threads were deleted was because they related to only one subject, not the entire channel...I guess we will find out when the mods get woken by Nanny smile

Very good idea to keep this chat separate, it is impossible to follow the discussions on the generic bloggers thread as there are 19 conversations going off in the same room, it just becomes unintelligible noise or an entire page of compressed quotes.
And Marks content isn't just the Spaghetti Veyron. rotate

If this thread and the AA Multiverse one are killed, then the Mods have to be consistent and close the MA one too - I doubt anyone wants that to happen though, it's way too popular.

As has been said, if there isn't enough interest in a specific thread, let it wither naturally.

I’m in, I’d like to discuss this specific content creators output away from the noise of the other thread.

More specifically, this Veyron rebuild then ……

Yes the Veyron build should blow his channel up (he said last night that he s gained 30k subscribers in a day since the video went live).

I really hope Furlonger show the work to us (mark always says he s bringing us with him on the journey). But I fear the updates will be short and not as detailed as we would like. For example id love to see the gearbox in bits and then the issue found, fixed and put back together (in depth) - like Chris Slix or MA would show us.

I know MM isn t going to do the work himself so wonder how often can Reece be there to video it?

Either way. I m really looking forward to seeing the results and then hopefully a wrap to cover that horrible (IMO) chrome finish, topped off with some nice wheels (if they can get tyres rated for 250mph (which I m sure MM will try and hit!!)

PS - Has anyone ACTUALLY seen Reece’s Mum???

Matte black wrap and black wheels to match his P1...can't say I'm a fan of the polished finish, but I hope he does something different to the P1.

This could be a big opportunity for Furlonger too in terms of profile...especially if they are full disclosure.

I'll admit that I've only started watching him recently (Since the P1 purchase from Harrods / TH)

Any good series to go back and find?

He certainly knows how to talk and string it out to the full 55 mins with plenty of advert spaces.
The latest video is probably his best so far and am also hoping they show the actual work stitching the veyron back together

To be fair I like most of his videos but the one that sticks out for me is the one where he tells the story of his first supercar (911) being stolen within an hour of him buying it from new.

The one I don’t particularly like is where he goes through his life story and kind of implies he’s all self made, when in reality it was his late father who set up Simark engineering who produce and supply A LOT of ratchet straps to the UK transportation industry and made his fortune for him.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m 100% sure that Mark and family work bloody hard, and always have, but I found that video in particular to be a little misleading.

I did wonder if Furlonger have their own channel, or are planning on starting one themselves and that's why they are going to be taking on the Veyron project. I can't see much benefit to them taking it on otherwise, I imagine it will be a basket case job and I doubt they are short of work as it stands already, I imagine they are already well known in the Bugatti circles.

Which one is the 911 video?

I used to dislike MM, but his recent videos seem pretty good. Well produced, and easy to watch.

Enjoyed the current build up to the Veyron - but jesus that's some project he's got there. I'm sure, as he kept saying during the previous videos that he wanted the viewers to be part of the whole process, he will get as much filmed as possible.

I've always enjoyed the content. The car theft stuff is particularly interesting. The podcast is good too.

I always thought it was just his sense of humour, a sort of little in-joke that has just carried on. Similarly at the end it’s always See you next Tuesday, which makes me chuckle.
Or maybe I’ve missed it all completely?

Just caught up with his video from last week. The whole veyron series has been really interesting and hasnt felt drawn out at all. His viewership numbers are very impressive, it wasnt that long ago when he was a mid pack youtuber but all his recent videos are solid 1-2m views with some nealy 3m. Cost of production (if you consider that he already has his fleet of cars) is low compared to someone like AA (staff / amount of cars) or Matt Armstrong (also staff and buying / repairing cars that he doesnt sell!).

His veyron has been split by at least 3 different garages so it just shows that taking it apart is not rocket science, although putting it back together looks to be as two of the other garages havent done a good job doing so! The last garage to have it looks like a really solid operation, some good PR for him.

BTW, good idea to give this its own thread.
