Just bizarre how casually some would seek to ruin someone's else life.
The woman concerned has been jailed for two years.

Having both worked in education for quite a while, Mrs D and I are hyper sensative to things like this.
The golden rules are:
1. Never be alone with anyone you don't know
2. Never touch anyone (probably even those you know)
(this applies to your kids friends, don't drive them home alone)
And as my old Head of Department used to say
3. Don't f
k the sixthformers
Seriously, these days, whatever you're doing, try and get someone else to help, flag them down, tell them what's going on, ask for help, call 111/101 and tell them what you're going to do.

Yikes! What a near miss for him, poor fella.
I did the same to a girl about 30 years ago, except I was at traffic with the window down and she drunkenly leaned through and begged me to take her home... I did, dropping her off and driving away without ever getting out the car... It's crossed my mind a few times over the years, how different people in the same situation, could have had very different outcomes...

It happened to me many years ago.
Whilst doing my job, I ended up taking a young lady to a safe place (i.e. nearest town with facilities). I politely pointed out the bus stop, cash machine, cafe and which direction (broadly) she needed to go to get home.
One week later, I was interrupted at work by a visit from the Police; the girl had made some accusations - sexual molestation, actual bodily harm (a bruise), theft of money and theft of her AirPods.
I was immediately suspended from duty while the investigation took place and had two very anxious days waiting for news. The girl then withdrew her complaint and I was reinstated. To my astonishment, there was no further action taken against her.

Judge is right:
"Saying it was 'fortunate' that Mr Ullah had the 'foresight to record the conversation in the car', the judge said it 'does not bear thinking about' the consequences had he not done so.
'I have no doubt he would have been prosecuted for rape and you would have carried on your merry way,' he added."

Awful and bizarre, can’t understand what motivates someone to do this. Unfortunately the consequence of this is that at work we aren’t allowed to do one to one work with teenagers for this risk. A lot of young people are losing out on awesome unique experience because of this criminal…

He really would have. Northern town. Muslim man. White woman. "Saying it was 'fortunate' that Mr Ullah had the 'foresight to record the conversation in the car', the judge said it 'does not bear thinking about' the consequences had he not done so.

So many on here would have convicted him on those facts alone.

I also had a similar experience around 30 years ago. I went to the cash machine in Bicester town centre late on a Friday evening (when people actually used cash). There was a female there who was clearly a bit drunk and chatting to a young policeman. I got my cash out and she asked if I would pay for a taxi home because her friends had all gone, hence she'd found a policeman to talk to.
To my surprise, the policeman said "Why dont you just ask him to take you" and soon after she hopped into my Vauxhall Corsa and I drove her home.
I dropped her outside (presumably her parents house) where she got out, said thank you and blew me a kiss before staggering up the driveway.
It occurred to me afterwards that it could have gone very differently!
