Lovely looking Mk 5. Couple of queries - are the front wings original and if so, any rust at the top of the arches? Can't see from the photos. Also any rust at the bottom of the front arches in the door shuts? Are the steering wheel stereo controls obsolete with the new unit?

Hi, the front wings as far as I am aware are the originals and have no rust. There is also no rust in the door openings.
The updated stereo is controlled by the steering wheel. The volume is controlled by the plus/minus buttons, the star selects which option you want to use ie; Bluetooth, radio, dab digital, USB. The only function that i can't use from my steering wheel is the 'phone' button; however, it displays on the stereo screen so have never had the need to do so. The stereo had special looms ordered and was fitted by a specialist so that it is compatible with the steering wheel.
