Microsoft Office 2024 deals
Discussion
Looking for some advice/ experiences.
I’m currently paying a monthly subscription for Office 365 but it feels like a waste because I’m seeing a lot of deals for Office 2024 for under £20 with Groupon amongst other places.
The main use is for my daughter to use for school and she’s not a heavy user at all.
Is there any negative to these cheap office 2024 deals online?

Bought one myself a couple of months back. They are usually superfluous licenses from corporate deals
I think the only downsides are that they do not come with updates and you don't get the O365 bells and whistles. What you do get is bang up to date, fully functional, activated software. Perfect for home use

CD keys, any of those, Office pro plus, £19,95. You can go older (no light user will know or care which version of Word they are using) for around £6

Try software for students, used to get some cracking deals through there

Thanks all for the replies, I have bought one off Groupon and with a coupon it came to around £9. I was slightly dubious about it but I went through the whole process of uninstalling Office 365 and buying a key for Office 2024 Professional and to my surprise it has all worked perfectly.
I don't know if it is missing some bells and whistles but for my daughters high school homework it will do fine, nice to drop another subscription fee every month too

Don’t forget to plan how to back up her files, no one want to be in the I’ve lost/broken/spilt tea/it’s been stolen place with no access to her data.I don't know if it is missing some bells and whistles but for my daughters high school homework it will do fine, nice to drop another subscription fee every month too

Is it just me or do Microsoft products get worse and worse?
How many times do I have to keep paying for Office?
I don't want to have an account with Microsoft of pay a monthly subscription.
I just want basic Word, Excel and Outlook. I was quite happy with the 1997 and 2000 versions.
The answer is to use one of the free alternatives, for me that is Libre Office and Thunderbird but there are others. How many times do I have to keep paying for Office?

TBH, having retired, I was looking to reduce the monthlies, & found there was very little Office offered that google drive couldn't do (& I was a heavy Office user through my career!).
Still have access to office online via my 'burner' hotmail account - used it once or twice, but really easy to use alternatives.
I looked at LibreOffice, but found it hard to figure out an easy way to access from all devices. Google Drive just works.

Struggling to find a similar offer for 2024 on a Mac - any pointers that are better than my google search at £29.99?
FWIW - I use LibreOffice on Mac (Thunderbird for email)... It's reassuringly similar to MS Office and other than some interface options in different places, I've not found any compatibility issues yet.HTH
