I've bought a 2015 F22 218i M sport. I have a few questions.
Discussion
Hi - First time BMW owner here. I have just purchased a 2015 65 plate 218i M sport (First BMW, I managed to get insured for £650 at 21.) I wanted an e46 but need something reliable for a long commute to placement. Its been remapped to 176 bhp, which to me makes up for the lack of 3 cylinders.
The car needs a service - the last one was done in Feb 2024, 5000 miles ago. How much should I expect to pay? The car is on 59k miles, I think the rear brake pads will need changing too.
The car has a side light failure warning on the dash, and the bulbs are blown - the previous owner did say he changed the halogens for xenons. Should I be worried about this being a larger electrical issue, or is it just a case of changing the bulbs?
I am also looking to add front parking sensors, and retrofit carplay whilst keeping an OEM look. Whats the best way to go about doing this?
Many thanks

The car needs a service - Download the My BMW app on your phone and there are options on there to book a service with a main dealer which will give you a cost, that's a good starting point then find a local independant specialist and see what they quoteThe car needs a service - the last one was done in Feb 2024, 5000 miles ago. The car has a side light failure warning on the dash, and the bulbs are blown - Put the correct spec bulbs in there replacing the blown ones and see what happens, probably nothing deeper than a couple of blown bulbs, especially if the previous owner has bought some ebay specials.
I am also looking to add front parking sensors, and retrofit carplay whilst keeping an OEM look.- Plenty of BMW coding specialists about who do this sort of thing, try owners groups on Facebook and i'm sure you will get recommendations. I have used "Up North Coding" in the past but it depends where in the country you are based
