This Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 will be joining the stable early next month. I just couldn't resist since I badly need a V8 back in my life! The ZL1 is a high-performance model introduced in 2017 at the top of the Camaro lineup. The ZL1 is powered by a 6.2 L LT4 supercharged V8 producing 650 hp and 650 lb/ft. Chevrolet made 3,045 Camaro ZL1s in 2017, and from those, just 150 units were finished in this Garnet Red Tintcoat.

Further info on the car can be seen here: https://www.theashtreecollection.co.uk/details/315...

I photographed a ZL1 Camaro some years ago, for a Belgian gentleman, who may well have been of this parish. I knew nothing about it, but what a machine.

Yours looks fantastic!

Lovely. If it's the same as the one I'm thinking of then I remember Randy Pobst ragging one around Willow Springs (I think) and raving about it.

Around the time when US manufacturers started building a cohesive package and not just a muscle car.

Absolutely, that's the one. Well remembered. The fact that it can ride, corner and stop properly, as well as sound like thunder and go like stink, is the icing on the cake.

Purdy thang , good choice OP which you won't regret . Looked at them when they first came out but didn't like the dash / interior , vastly improved nowadays I'm glad to see . Ended up with a Mustang GT instead , gone now . You'll enjoy that driving

I used to see one of these in that exact spec near me quite regularly. Haven't seen it for a while though! Does the reg start with M by any chance? If so it's the same one. Had no idea it was worth £60k! Lovely machine though.

Love these! I rented a Camaro SS in Texas and that was fun enough. This will be a beast!
I’ve heard from many sources that to get these to pass an IVA test, they have to temporary replace the ZL1 bumper and with a regular Camaro one! The ZL1 splitter being too aggressive and sharp! Looks bloomin’ awesome though.

The registration doesn't start with an M but it's had quite a few registration plates. I'm going to add mine before collection - V8 POW.
Most American performance cars in this country are relatively affordable but the special editions from Ford, Chevrolet and Dodge command a hefty premium. For example, depending on the Dodge Challenger Hellcat and Corvette model you can be looking at well north of £100k+.

With this and the Mustang GT350R the yanks were on a bit of a roll back then.
