I have an issue with my Fiat Punto Evo, I'm hoping someone can help. I've had this problem for a while with the warning light coming on - my garage thought it was the yaw rate sensor, so I sourced one myself and they replaced the old one. The car was fine for a couple of days but then the warning light came back off. However this is the odd thing - it seems to be triggered by the handbrake. If I turn on the engine with handbrake off, the warning light *usually* doesn't come on, but if I turn the engine on with the handbrake applied the light comes on every single time. If I set off without the handbrake on, the warning light will stay off throughout the journey, unless I apply the handbrake and it will then come on instantly.

Has anyone any theories as to why this will be and what I can do to fix this? Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Front brake light switch, located under the passenger footwell. It signals the brake pedal on the RHD car sending the brake signals on the originally LHD designed car. When these go faulty they can intermittently cause these exact faults.
