Birthday pranks

A friend of mine is soon to be 40. She is absolutely dreading it. Been trying to think of a good prank to pull and thought that it would be a good for a thread. Done a quick search but couldn't find anything. If there is a thread could someone post a link.

Perhaps a bit corny, but when my Mum turned 40 her best friend made up a load of signs on A3/A4 paper and put them up in the immediate area of our house saying "___ is 40 today!!!".

She'd even put them on stakes and hammered them into the grass on local roundabouts, as well as hanging a couple from our school railings, so my Mum (and everyone else) would see them when she dropped us off.
