Hi everyone,

I’ve recently bought a 360 Spider and wanted to change the standard exhaust.

I saw the YouTuber Seen Through Glass replaced his 360 exhaust with a Challenge Stradale one, and I’d love my car to sound like that. I’ve sourced an OEM CS exhaust (backbox). Is there anything else I’d need, or is it as ‘simple’ as that? I couldn’t tell in his videos what parts of the exhaust he had replaced, but know he had an ECU tune as well.

I have been offered a Capristo, but it’s Level 3 so probably too loud!

Has any one done anything similar or have any other recommendation? If I could get the car to sound like a CS I’d be very very happy!

Thanks - I’d seen the pistonheads link but still not 100% sure if the back box I’ve found is the right one (no idea if it has valves, waiting to hear back).

Its not just the back box you need, its the tailpipes, heat shields and other bits and pieces. Gets quite pricey for all these bits.

Congrats on your new 360! And well done for sourcing the backbox. Not an easy find nowadays.

The valves are attached to the tailpipes, and you will need both left & right side outlets. Ideally you'd also want to get the ECU mapped for the high flow exhaust, to get the most out of it. Digressing a bit here; but the "CS exhaust" is actually the Modena's optional Racing Exhaust system. When you ordered a 360 with that box ticked, Ferrari also tweaked the ECUs for it.

But yeah the backbox and the Left & Right tailpipes are all you really need. The existing vacuum lines and exhaust support bracket can all be re-used. There is a specific heatshield for the underside of the engine cover lid to help prevent the third brake-light from melting and your hands scorching when lifting the tailgate. Not absolutely essential on a Modena, but probably a good idea on a Spider, due to its flatter deck lid.

Yes, writing from experience having done the retrofit. I sourced mine from Ferrari when they still had stock. And yes, fitting the Racing/CS exhaust on its own (but with the correct mappings) will produce a near identical CS sound to any 360. It won't be an exact 1:1 because you're still missing the other key elements that contribute to the CS's distinctive bark i.e. the bespoke high-flow induction system, as well as the engine & fuel mappings etc. But 99% and even the most discerning ears won't pick up the difference.
