How much space do you need? You can get a Kia Proceed with most of the 7 year warranty left.

What got said to put you off the Skoda? Guessing rather exaggerated tales of cam chain problems? Not sure it was still an issue by that year?

I posted it on reddit, general comments were its way too over priced for a skoda being 10 year old (2016)

Thanks for your time, I do like the Arteons! Are the jags not unreliable though?

The diesel Jags are what gave them their 'unreliable' tag - for the most part the petrols are ok.

I would be looking at the Volvo (either V60 or S60) out of that list ZX posted

The 2.0T' Jags are as reliable as most 2.0T's, they're also a bloody good car & worth a test drive at least.

The Insignia's imo are a better car than the Skoda's with lower nvh and being just as well built they just edge it.

I did forget the 2.5 Mazda 6 in GT Sport Nav+ spec:

As I said all are really good options.

Ah, Skoda hating from Reddit. I had a quick look on auto trader and depending on how many miles it had done £11k looks like a perfectly acceptable price.

It's cheaper than a similarly aged golf GTi (a car it shares a lot of parts with) and is a much bigger and more useful car. If anything skodas reputation is better than VW nowadays (even though they all come from the same family anyway).

I'm afraid the 2nd hand car market has gone a bit weird since COVID and cars prices are higher than they would have been before. True in 2019 a 16 year old Skoda vrs would have been considerably cheaper than it is now, but todays reality is £11k is how much a 16 year old Skoda Octavia vrs is.
It's pretty hard for a lot of people to understand apparently...
