What underwear do you use for running?
Discussion
I bought a pair similar to those on the link below:
https://www.underarmour.co.uk/en-gb/p/underwear/ua...
However, tbh I never really got on with them, can't really say why. Now I just wear my normal trunk boxers.
My running shorts do have the inner lining part as well (not sure what it's called). Not sure if that makes a difference.

Thanks both. Not cheap are they, guess you get what you pay for
Was looking at these as well, bit cheaper for 3

I thought most running shorts had liners, so no underwear was necessary. At least every pair I've bought over the years has had one.
Currently using Nike stride- have 3 pairs in rotation that have seen me through marathons with no chafing or discomfort at all.
Maybe that's where I'm going wrong, I don't really wear running shorts, just rather generic loose breathable shorts, thinking about it they probably look more appropriate for basketball Currently using Nike stride- have 3 pairs in rotation that have seen me through marathons with no chafing or discomfort at all.

Same here. I have one pair with the stretch inner shorts like the Ronhill's linked above but don't find them as comfortable. I also have a pair of cheap Karrimor ones and the liner in them is a bit tough and scratchy so I just use them as swimming shorts rather than running in them. These are the ones I use. Easily covered over a thousand miles in my oldest pair and they're still like new. Lightweight, no chafing and they look good too.

The back pocket is handy for your phone. It's big enough to hold a standard size phone (not iphone max) but small enough so it doesn't jiggle around.
The only thing I would change is to remove the two front pockets as anything you put in them is unlikely to stay put on a run.

Those underarmour boxers or the nike equivalent. Absolutely brilliant.
I don't like running shorts with built in liner or the swimming short style mesh as always ends up chafing for me.
Good to know, I've got the 3 pack of the UA ones arriving soon. Thanks chaps, looking forward chaff free running! I don't like running shorts with built in liner or the swimming short style mesh as always ends up chafing for me.

I suffer from the ole chub-rub and these are the best I've found. The pocket is well placed and your keys/phone don't bounce and they're an absolute bargain compared to UA/Skins/Runderwear, all of which I've also tried.

I thought you can buy running shorts with the 'underwear' element built-in much like swimming shorts?
I use a pair of long neoprene compression shorts and as the material suggests hug the body like a wet suit. Needless to say I don't wear any underwear with them. Mrs S bought me a pair (new) from a charity shop about 10yrs ago for 50p. They were that good I sent her back to buy up all remaining pairs ending up with about 8. I've now got two pairs left as the outer material starts to wear a bit thin after a year or so. Can't help with the nake as they have no label.
If I'm running in hot summer overseas I'll wear proper running shorts with built in underwear as above.

Yep same here. I've used those for the last few years and had no chafing, and they have not fallen to bits which is what seems to happen with most of the other tat off Amazon. I use them with some double lined running shorts too which work well in this cold weather.
I’ve never worn underwear when running, all my shorts have liners like swimming trunks, I don’t wear compression shorts.
