Hi,

I'm looking for a classic car experience as a birthday gift. Midlands area, few hundred quid.
First clicks took me to https://drivedadscar.com/ anybody any experience of these?

I realise a lot of these drive 'experiences' are pretty shoddy so hoping the knowledge of PH can give me some pointers on finding somewhere decent.

Thanks.

Could combine hiring a Caterham with a trip to Scotland. There's at least 2 places.

On the plus side, you'd get the car for 24 hours rather than the usual 20 minutes with the voucher experience type places.

Just watch out that you are not ‘ fined for damage’ on return. This was exposed on an investigative tv programme- unfortunately, don’t know which

I have seen You Tubers doing the drivedadscar experience, and it seems to consist of driving around some industrial units at 20mph. Fine if that's what you want, but it is not what I expected when I first heard of it!

Perhaps Great British Car journey would be more suitable? Based in the Peak District, with the opportunity to drive cars/cars.thumbup

Appears to be much the same as drivedadscar - it's even on the same site!

Maybe it's too 'modern' but the Morgan factory tour and car hire are incredible value. My pal and I did it last year. Absolutely fantastic. Might even do it again and hire another model. Maybe worth a look?

I was going to mention that one, based at Mallory Park. My father did it a few years ago and loved it. We went for a morning session, which ended up a good idea as some of the cars weren't running in the afternoon.

Have a look at classic car adventures in Buxton. I’ve booked to go in May. Looks like good fun and gets good reviews, drive 4 classic cars on the road and swap between them whilst driving through the Peak District. No affiliation to the company, just got served an add on Instagram.

The Great British Car Journey Museum / Drive Dad's Car is a nice day out, and you can book drives in a few cars over a couple of hours. It's good value for money but it is a gentle jaunt around a car park. For proper road driving, there was an excellent company called Great Escape that did classic hire for half day and full day and various multi-car options but I can't find their website now. They were in Redditch.

Cheer all. Think the Car museum and drive is the best compromise.
Good location and options on various cars. Thanks.
