Kiddo wants to make a cable car type arrangement

We have high ceilings

Don’t want electric etc involved (famous last words)

What house hold items can I scrounge to make something work

Ideas great appreciated

Depending on your block-based building toy skills this is an excellent use case for Lego. Then when you/he inevitably want to motorise it should be doable with the motor kit.

Ha amazing

I was contemplating taking kitchen drawers apart for runners, totally overlooked Lego!

Got an old laundry pulley? That would appear to be the perfect starting point.

Depends what you have in mind, the intended scale of the project, budget, is it going to be single span or have pylons?

A ball of string, two split rings, two nails and an empty drinks bottle as a gondola could be a starting point. But the sky is the limit with sufficient time and budget.

Meccano. Would be better than Lego. Make a geared winder to power it, or use a motor.
