Reaction to these seems a bit lukewarm with plenty sitting at dealers at a good discount.

However has anyone spent their own money on one and what is your experience/feedback?

Don't think its just the GTS models that are struggling. Look at Porsche sales and you'll see what I mean.

I had a deposit down on a Gen 2 Targa GTS, having owned a Gen 1 Targa GTS. The reality being though before I took delivery was that I wasn't really enjoying the Gen 1 model as much as I thought I should, mainly down the how fast/capable it was, and therefore the chances to use it were very limited, so why spend another 50k+ to switch, when the main attraction seems to be the hybrid technology which I firmly believe will devalue cars quickly, but ultimately its selling point was it was quicker.

I'll likely go back to Porsche at some point, but will certainly be in the form of a NA, manual car with less power I suspect to try and relive the 'enjoyment of driving'. Potential a Spyder.

Don't get me wrong, the GTS is a very nice car. Can be used everyday and does everything needed very well. It just doesn't make you 'drive' as its just all too easy IMO.

I think Porsche messed up on the allocations of their GT models, and it will/is coming back to bit them now the residuals and interest rates aren't what they were. A lot of genuine buyers have gone elsewhere and won't consider a 170k GTS anymore.

Thinking the same £140k for 100’s of miles 20k off plus first year tax as not new.

Makes ‘s’ and base feel expensive and gts already comes very highly spec so diff is actually quite small. Provided ride/noise is better than .1 I’d be interested.

You won't find much discussion about the 992.2 GTS on PH :-
- it's not naturally aspirated
- it doesn't have a manual gearbox
- it's quite heavy on paper
- it has new hybrid technology
- you can't make money on one

Still, there are plenty of happy GTS owners, including me, who accept it for what it is - a depreciating asset that provides a great all round driving experience. I've gone 992GT3 > Turbo > GTS in 3 years. It doesn't have the rawness, throttle response and ultimate handling of a GT3 but is a lot more comfortable on longer trips. It doesn't have the noticeable lag of the Turbo (S) even if the max power numbers are a bit less. The low down torque is great out of corners or overtaking and I rarely drive it manual mode like I had to on my old R8 - the PDK in Sport mode does a great job of selecting the right gear depending on how heavy footed you are.

My only negative so far is a squeak coming from the dash, just like the demo I drove earlier in the year. Fortunately, it's only audible with the music turned way down.

There have been some problems with the e-turbo with a few replacements on the first model year, as posted on RL forum. I would suggest limiting your search to 2026 model year. You can tell from the VIN if searching on the Porsche network - MY25 has an "SS" and MY26 has a "TS".

You're right about the numbers; there are a lot at dealerships around the UK and not all listed for sale. However, they have also sold a lot. When I first started seriously looking for a GTS in late September, I saved ~40 GTS on the Porsche web and ~35 have sold. So they are moving at the right price and decent spec. I read somewhere about 6 months ago that Porsche were focussing their late 2025 production on the higher value GTS. I thought it was just trivial speculation at the time but it seems to be correct, as it's a lot easier to find a GTS than a T.

Thanks seems like a very balanced view, ride comfort/noise OK ? I know its subjective but I know a few struggled with the GTS 992.1

Just about every 911 I've driven has had a firm ride of varying degrees. The only time I recall thinking it was close to plush was an early 992.1 Carrera on 19/20" wheels and winter tyres.

I found the 992.1 GT3 extremely firm and that was one of the reasons I sold it. Porsche softened the ride on the S/T and and some tuning companies offer that map for the standard GT3. I believe it's also better on the .2

The Turbo Cab was quite a bit more comfortable - combination of softer ride and 18W seats. I was initially very positive about the car but as time went on and I started pushing it, I never really got on with the handling closer to the limit on the road. I found it a bit wallowy on tight turns and the back of the car would step out - engaging the firm suspension setting would improve it but it's the only 911 I've had where I've had to engage sport suspension mode for road use. I don't do enough track work or have enough suspension knowledge to say what was really happening, but it felt very "rear-endy" compared to the GT3 which felt a lot more balanced. I had a theory that the Turbo chassis was optimised for the PDCC system which was standard on the Turbo S, and if you had the poor boy Turbo version with standard suspension, then it was a compromise. If anyone reads this and has similar experience or any opinions, I'm listening.

GTS suspension is possibly slightly firmer than the Turbo, but I can't be sure as I'm driving them 6 months apart. I drove it from Preston OPC back to N.I. via some great back roads in southern Scotland - the A712 through New Galloway forest park (photo above) is epic but the quality of the surface is a bit patchy. I didn't feel it was too harsh with the standard suspension setting, and my wife isn't grumbling. Plenty of demo cars around at OPCs for you to try. Some owners in the US specced the standard PASM (=10mm higher) in combination with the new high voltage PDCC to improve ride quality. Cabin noise is reasonable on most road surfaces and 8th gear is pretty high for longer motorway cruises.

I have just taken delivery of a 992.2 C2, I owned a 991.1 C2S a few years back....as far as I can tell (on my short drive home) the road noise is the same. Mine came with Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres but I have only done 20 miles in the last week (weather) so not sure if they are worse or better than the Pirellis on the last car.

So far up to 14k miles in Hybrid GTS Cabs in past 14 months. Great daily cars, steering and suspension not quite as focused or sharp as the 992.2 GT3s but very comfortable and sporty as daily use car. The 2WDs are more fun than the 4WD ones 4WD very planted. Instant throttle pick to me drives more like a NA car to Turbo one. Very long geared 80mph is like 1700Rpm nice car for long trip and good MPG Late 30s on a run, goes for a new Turbo S soon, sorry to see it go have really enjoyed it, great mix of performance, comfort ,noise level, and fun to drive for a daily use car.

Moved from a Boxster 4,0L GTS to a 992.2 GTS Cab 2 weeks ago. So far it's doing everything it should. Even in the snow !!!

I’m tempted to move from my Cayman 4.0 to a 992.2. You missing the NA engine or no ?

Went with a friend to an OPC on Monday as he fancied a ex-demo 992.2 GTS Cab they had.

He’s had his eye on it for a while. Has been steadily discounted every few weeks since it was registered in Sept. Currently £20k(ish) under list. Said he’d take it if they offered a further £2-3k off. No dice, wouldn’t reduce even by £1.

Same story with his trade-in (a three year old Macan). They offered £5k below WBAC, Carwow etc, and wouldn’t budge a penny.

Not at all, I ran a 2.5S before the 4.0L GTS and when I moved to the 4.OL I missed torque below 2000 rpm. Once you got the 4.0 L spinning it was awesome. 992 GTS has the best of both worlds. Suggest you take one out :-)

I can't opine on how they drive, but I have now seen a couple GTSs on the road and in the metal the front with the slats looks a lot better than in pictures imo.

Unique for sure, but too expensive for a GTS, when I move on from my 2024 992.1 4GTS, sometime this year, I am decided to seek a late model 992.1 GT3 Touring, a better car for similar money, in my opinion
