leaky waste piper
Discussion
So as so often happens, I've managed to (probably) create a problem where before there wasn't one.
Doing a little tidying in the garden and outside the house, I knocked into the waste pipe with the hose reel. Now it's leaking. You can see from this video that there is this little clip that is broken (the plastic just by the bolt has snapped) and now it leeks very slowly and a little faster when nudged with a welly boot. I was checking this when a full bath was being let out, hence the running water!
So... What is this part called? As a cursory search reveals nothing, but I have no idea what I am looking for! Im assuming this is designed to allow a pipe to be diverted off the main one, but is just blocked off here. No idea why its like that! But I am guessing the easiest fix is just to replace what's broken?
How easy will it be to change? Is it a case of just undoing the other bolt and slapping a new one on, or will the pipe work have to be removed and refitted?
As you can tell, I am a total beginner. Also aware its new years day tomorrow so getting parts and/or a plumber is going to be problematic anyway!
