New Sky Q Subscription
Discussion
How do you get a new Sky Q subscription, assuming it is still available.
It now says on the Sky website I can't buy this 'online' only Sky Stream, does this mean it is not available anywhere, even if I went to a Sky shop/booth?
This is for my parents who are in their 80's and they have only ever known sky as it exists with a set top box and won't be able to deal with a different UI, Sky Q would be ideal but how do I go about getting a new subscription, along with broadband & a phone line

Pretty sure that I read recently that Sky Q has been retired, so I think that you may be out of luck. It now says on the Sky website I can't buy this 'online' only Sky Stream, does this mean it is not available anywhere, even if I went to a Sky shop/booth?

If they have an "old" Sky+ box then they ll hate the SkyQ interface.
It s nothing like Sky+.
I ve had SkyQ for 6 months and there s not a single thing I like about it.
It s beyond awful.
If my old box hadn t ground to a halt I d have had it back in a heartbeat.
Whereas I absolutely love the Q interface, and much prefer it over the + interface. It;s one reason why I keep Sky, I love it.It s nothing like Sky+.

You're right- It doesn't randomly freeze and require a reboot like Sky+ (often when you want to record something)
- It doesn't overheat like Sky+ and need unplugging to cool down
- it boots from power-off state in seconds, not several minutes
- The UHD picture is great (when there is 4K programming)
- The remote isn't the size of a small appliance
- It only requires one cable to the dish
- It can record half a dozen programmes at the same time
