Nice Traffic Police

Having not had any runs in with the police for many many years today I had another.
My m4 has horrible, illegal metro and tinted plates on it, I bought them no realising how bad they would be in person, fitted them and figured I would swap them over at some point so stuck the standard ones in the front of the car.
Anyway - passed the police on the road today, they never turned round, I popped into lidl and the wife called me to say the police were next to the car saying it wasn’t insured.
I popped out, they advised they were recording me on a bodycam, asked me was it insured (it is) but I cannot remember who with, thankfully I then realised in my wisdom, I registered my private plate to the car but never told the insurance, I gave them the old reg and they advised it was insured and who I was insured with, then they asked me about the plates, I was honest, bought them thinking they would like smart, they don’t.
I offered to swap them in the car park if they could lend me scissors for the plate tape, they were very nice and just said, swap them as soon as you can, and call you insurance and add the plates on.
Nothing else, no BS just a nice and pleasant encounter and some nice compliments about the car.
I guess not being a d1ck is a huge relief for them given the way people act today.
Anyway, that was part of my day…My daughters enjoyed it (4&5)
