Hi All,

Hoping you can help. We’ve just had a new addition to the family so we have three kids and need a seven seater now.

I’ve been looking around and the best choice for us seems to be an Audi Q7 however I just wanted some help to understand what to look for in a used car. My budget is around £30,000. I’ve seen examples where there’s high mileage no sunroof S , black edition etc. We would like the interior from 2020 onwards prior to that looks a bit dated now.

What would you say is a reasonable number of miles? I’d be looking to keep the car for around 4-5 years.

Appreciate any help

Just for your information I'm currently looking to sell my Q7 as I've just put a deposit on a GLB 35. I don't think it would be what you would want as it's the 3l petrol, but as a benchmark for you it's a 21 plate with 34,200 miles, FSH (main dealer) and I'm looking for £31.5k. I don't know if diesels differ much in price from the petrols, but that might give you a ballpark idea.

My money would go on a Q8, I think they are a much nicer looking car. Though they will be higher mileage at the thirty grand mark.

Whilst i’ve not driven a Q7, I have driven an A6 with the 3 litre diesel engine and it’s a lovely unit.

In regards to the mileage question, what mileage are you anticipating doing over the next 4 years.

This strikes me as a good buy and I’d imagine they’d negotiate on the price.

Less than 2k in the last 12 months between MOTs. I'd want to see rock solid service records on that to make sure it's not been clocked before handed back to the finance company.

Already high mileage ( v average) and the original owner probably got hammered for excess mileage at 55k.

Good point. I didn’t probe in that far.

Also had an MOT fail for a dodgy numberplate. Not to cast assumptions but when you piece all the facts together..

Haircut straight after 1st MOT is the best guess

The 45 is the lower powered variant.

If i was looking for a 2020 on Q7, i'd be taking a look at this:
