My lad has seen a sterling silver heavy link bracelet that he's wanting, like the one below, but does sterling silver tarnish easily, especially if left on when showering etc? Will he be constantly cleaning it?

Silver tarnishes (oxidises) naturally. However if worn it doesn't really get the opportunity to fully tarnish due to the constant movement against both itself and clothing and will develop a patina (not unpleasant, but also not like new) over time.

If you need to clean the thing then doing it chemically makes it zero effort anyway, the only downside is the smell.

It won't tarnish too quickly anyway.

I've bought a cheap £18 8mm x 21cm Cuban link stainless steel bracelet from Amazon to see how I get on with the size, fit and whether I like wearing it or not. If I like it I'll either keep it or replace with a nice silver one in the future
