Reminded me of this: a friend was tasked with last minute Christmas shopping. Very unwisely, he visited the pub first , then another, where he knew several people. As one thing led to another, when he swayed happily into the market to buy a turkey direct from the farm stall, there were only small, nondescript chickens left.
