I thought i'd replace the bent aerial on Mrs P's 2013 Mini One. Twisted it, thinking it would simply unscrew and screw in a new one. Hmmm. So the aerial fell off, leaving a rusty 'post' sticking out of the base by about two inches. OK, i thought it might need a little persuasion so with pliers and molegrips it started turning, but not actually unscrewing.

So now the radio has stopped working. Having seen some YouTube videos I note that there are actually four cables leading to the base of the aerial, so maybe I have twisted and snapped one or more of them by turning the 'post'? And would that stop the radio working (and CD also)?

I've tried disconnecting the battery and also checked the fuses but neither made any difference.

So to get it all working again do I just need to replace the whole aerial base?

All suggestions welcomed smile

It will be a "powered" DAB antenna and you will now have blown the fuse.

From what you describe it will be supplied from the main stereo fuse, so you will need to find that & replace the complete antenna.
