I was sure weather to put this in the Lepin thread or start a new one, as there is a separate Cobi thread, I figured I'd go with new.

Has anyone ever heard of them or order one?

I cam across this and it looks very cool:

It appears not, however, I had some cash stashed in an account waiting for a bill from someone.

That bill came in lower than expected, so I did it anyway. I paid via Apple Pay, just in case.

I'll keep you all posted

My Wife brought herself this to build over Xmas , brought via Amazon so no risk that it wouldn’t turn up.

Ah, I didn't think to check Amazon.

I have had an email to say it has been dispatched, so seems all above board so far.

ETA: Amazon have it, but the price in in GBP is the same as I just paid in USD.

Are you expecting to pay VAT/duty/customs charges on the package from the USA?

While it is charged in USD, I strongly suspect it is coming from China, and I would be surprised if there is charges.

BTW, did that make you feel clever?

Nope, I was just asking, as I used to buy Apple gear from the US as it was cheaper. But UPS/FedEx started what I thought amounted to 'double-dipping' and refusing to deliver until I had paid all their fees (including VAT on their added fees). So I wanted to know if I was likely to face similar issues doing it nowadays.

If you think I was being disingenuous, then all I can say is I'm sorry for not making my self clearer.

Ah, sorry. Having a bit of a sense of humor failure today, and this place of full of people trying to be clever with things like that.

Given the price I suspect this will come from China and there will probably be something to pay, sorry, I can't help on the US thing.

Well it's not Lego but 'compatible building block system' we've bought similar from AliExpress usually takes about a week direct from China no extra fees. Quality wise not quite Lego but acceptable.

I've purchased more than a few kits from Joy Bricks in China and they generally arrive within 7-10 days. As soon as the order is placed they send an email with a shipping/tracking link. Recenty the last few items they've used Evri (never had problems despite the bad press) but previously the parcels arrived at my door via Royal Mail 48 Hr Tracked. Never had any issues re customs and extra to pay. I use a Revolut card to pay in USD and prices seems reasonable to me.

Update on this. It is coming direct from China, it has been dispatched, been air freighted to the UK and has cleared customs.

Royal Fail will be taking over from here. So that will be interesting.

Another update. Arrived yesterday, just over two weeks from order, including Christmas, not bad.

No customs charges to pay.

Quite impressed for £94.

My Wife has finished the Gold Mine , quite a good build , the sequence of doing certain bits could have been better but She enjoyed it. Has a motor driven ball run which gives it a bit more interest now it’s finished.
