The lorus Lumibrite is a cute thing which can be had for about £25 from argos so yes definitely do-able!

On the strength of your post, I got one today to use as a daily for a while in place of the SKX.https://www.argos.co.uk/product/2535975?utm_custom...
bloody nice thing it is too. Much slimmer than the SKX, lighter and easier to read. Strap is super comfy and it's so light I forget i'm wearing it.
£24.99, absolute stonking bargain. Thanks Chap !!.
Decent alternative to the Militado

We should make this the official "Field Watch" Thread I think.
I've had the lorus on for a couple of days now. Used it in the steam room and sauna tonight, along with a dip in the pool and cold shower afterwards. Faultless. I wouldn't have been too disappointed had it steamed up (Traser, i'm looking at you) but it didn't. Wet strap did irritate slightly but that's my own fault.
Now, please excuse my ignorance but I didn't know that Lorus were essentially a cheaper Seiko.
So far it's not lost any discernible time. I'll check again in a week or so though. Anyone know what quartz movements they use in this section of the market?.
I have a fairly extensive collection of Divers, so it's high time I started on field watches I think.
@bluehaddock, that looks great on an orange strap mate. Another one for the collection on my "wish list".

This used to be such an easy choice, a two way fight between Lorus and Timex with their Expedition Scout. I mean it would be the same price to buy that Lorus as to get Timpsons to change a battery for you. But all these pesky rivals turned up more recently.
I was going to suggest Militado, and as someone mentioned Ratio, I have one of their divers and it is surprisingly decent quality for the price. Superior to what bigger brands knock out for the same money, and they all come with sapphire, even their quartz models.
Then there is Baltany who have some great designs, but more like 3-4 times the OP's budget.
