Replacing an inset sink
Discussion
Is there a particular reason the unit needs to be so wide? Obviously the existing cutout should only be as big as the sink itself, there should be worktop under the drainer section. So if you can clean any sealant residue off the worktop then normally it would be ok to fit a smaller unit - you’d just be exposing a bit more worktop that used to be covered by the drainer.

The existing unit is cut out where the drainer goes, so the drainer is now a secondary, very shallow bowl. Eejits.Gassing Station | Homes, Gardens and DIY | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff

The "top mount" may pay off, back to Google, and thankyou
