EBay NI Number

Just wondering has anyone given eBay their NI number yet if they’ve had that request ?

Anyone heard from HMRC since doing it ?

Done it, heard nowt (yet).

But, the threshold is low (30 items or £1,000, or something like that) so there will be millions of accounts having to comply.

So if you sell something over £1000 now you're going to pay tax on it? Surely not ..

It’s if you’ve sold 30 items or £2k worth of stuff in a year they want your NI number

Otherwise they stop you selling on there

No, of course not.

I think they probably are going to go after the people who have thousands of listings on there but are not registering themselves as a business seller

I only sell small bits and pieces on there but because I went over 30 items I got the message from eBay
