Hi all.
Niece's 2021 Kia Picanto.
Just had it's MOT, unfortunately, the day after, the ESC light came on, along with the engine management light.
I think it went into limp mode but I wasn't in it so I'm not sure.
I've read that so many things can cause certain lights to appear, apart from the actual fault.
One is that the battery may not have the oomph to go through the full checks and so shows a fault.
I've just had to jump the thing with my van (those new batteries have come in handy (for anyone involved in my last thread))
It took quite a while to start. I had to press the accelerator to get it to go, like it's not firing on all cylinders. Coil/plugs?
Apart from taking it to have an expensive diagnostics check, can anything be reset manually to see if it was a battery issue?
Cheers

It sounds like the battery isn't brilliant if it needed to be jump started, but it also sounds like you have an engine starting issue which could be any one of hundreds of things.
Without a code to start with we could be guessing for months unfortunately, if you don't want to take it to a garage you will need to beg/borrow/steal one to see what the car is seeing wrong.
